Chevrolet would maintain production of this basic Styleline Special in spite of low sales for 1951 Styleline Specials. All 1952 models including the Styleline Special 2 door sedans and Styleline Special 4 door sedans wore a new look dominated by the big toothy vertical bar grille.

With the main interest on styling, the 1952 Chevrolet changed little mechanically. All body styles like this Styleline Special stayed basically the same except for slight changes in the grille mentioned above, tail lights and new nose emblem with Chevrolet script. This model lacked the bolder molding and gravel shield on the rear fenders that was standard on the Chevy Styleline Deluxe.

Stainless reveal moldings around the windshield and rear window found on the Styleline Deluxe models were cost cutting items on the Styleline Specials. Addition cost cutting items were molding that followed the top curve of the doors and quarter windows. All were noticeably absent on the 1952 Styleline Special 2 door and 1952 Styleline Special 4 door models.

"Pleasure?... Full Measure! Price?... Pleasant Surprise" said a 1952 Chevy Styleline Special magazine advertising. It continued by saying that - "If you think that high quality in a motor car goes hand in hand with high cost, your Chevrolet dealer has a very pleasant surprise for you." The magazine ad also said "You'll be surprised at the smoothness of the new centerpiece power" referring to the Chevy inline six cylinder engine and standard transmission. The ad finished with "There is no reason for paying more." and "The Only Fine Cars - Priced So Low!" Price was one sales item that Chevrolet always stressed because the completion from other auto makers such as Pontiac, Oldsmobile, Plymouth and especially Ford.

Production figures for the 1952 Chevy Styleline Special 4 door sedans, model 1503, were only 35,460 units. The 2 door Chevy Styleline Special 2 door sedans, model 1502, were only 54,781 units. Why? Because a Styleline Deluxe cost only $45.00 more for a 4 door and $25.00 more for a 2 door in 1952.
